Left Brentwood at 8:30 this morning and arrived in San Pedro at 2:30 this afternoon after a pretty uneventful trip on I-5. Does anyone agree that I-5 is one of the most boring highways anywhere? The most excitement we saw was a huge tumbleweed bouncing across the road. Traffic was light and mostly trucks.
We dined for lunch at the ubiquitous Mickey D's.....blech. Don't try their new chicken snacks......no chicken.
We did hit some traffic on the 405 but it was a "moving" delay.
The hotel is as I expected....cheap. My buddy sweet talked the desk clerk and they upgraded us to a 2 room suite......just two cheap rooms for the price of one!!
It's a beautiful evening and we can see the ship from one of the cracked windows!
Had a nice dinner with our friends, Doris and Ray, from Burlingame and it was great to see them again.
The ship looks pretty with all the lights on and nobody home! She's just come from dry dock so we won't have to deal with departing passengers tomorrow! They are so pathetic anyway when they weep and grab onto the railings as they are dragged off the ship!!!
We will make our way to the gangway around noon tomorrow and my next report will be from the ship!
Much love to you all!
XOXOXOX
