Feb 4 - Sail from LA Day

We have had a busy day!!
Much to our surprise (not!) our hotel was on the busiest corner in San Pedro!  The fire engines serenaded us during the night and so did the motorcycle gang!  Had somewhat of a “continental” breakfast and left the hotel about 10:30 to make our way to the pier.
Everything went very efficiently and from car to stateroom took no more than 30 minutes.
The good news is that there wasn’t a contractor in sight so we breathed a sigh of relief that we weren’t going to have to lay carpet or varnish the rails!!!
The ship looks brand spanking new and even has that “new ship smell”!!  I’ve never seen a hull so white!
We took a tour of the new additions and the staff were so happy to show everything off.  The pizzeria looks wonderful and right next to it is a wine bar called Vines.  They have added an International Café where you can have small plates or desserts all during the day.  Actually they are open 24 hours so there’s no need to ever miss a meal!!!
Sailaway was  beautiful and about 77 degrees!  There was a pod of dolphin that followed the ship and did their acrobatics for us!
We missed it but apparently right after we set sail (so no one could change their mind!!!) the Captain announced that we are heading for some rough seas.  We are already rocking quite a bit but apparently by Monday we will be seeing 20+ foot waves!!  Now that’s a ride!  I am scarfing my seasick pills!!
We’re calling it a day and look forward to the “Superbowl” on the ship tomorrow.
Much love from the “rocker’s”,
XOXOXO

  1. Wow, I thought the Mexico cruise was always such smooth water that it was actually a bit boring. 20 foot waves! Glad you don't scare easily. If there are any first timers on the ship, this may be their last time. haha.

  2. And here is something a little more worrisome... Today's paper has a story that TWO Princesses...the Crown and the Ruby are limping into Florida with hundreds of norovirus victims.....thank God you have a freshly remade ship!
