Feb 14th – VD – At sea

Happy VD to all my sweeties!!!

A beautiful sea day with calmer seas and sun!

Spent a bit of time today wrangling with toilet issues!  Had the repairmen here several times and they finally got things fixed!  The Purser’s desk felt bad enough about our problems that they sent us TWO plates of chocolates!!!  Like we really need something else to eat!!

We were losers, again, in trivia but it’s now becoming very funny!  The morning one was all about Valentine Day and we came in …….yes, you guessed it…….second!  This afternoon’s trivia was 20 flags and we had to identify the countries!  No fun and we only got three.  The winning team only had five so you know how obscure the flags were.

Sailor Ed had his third acupuncture treatment and really feels that it is beneficial. He also managed another win in the casino this evening!  200 more bucks!  Big shot!!

Funny story.  I play trivia with a gal from Alaska who is traveling with her 100 year old aunt.  They had plans to meet last evening for the Captains cocktail party and the aunt went missing.  Vicki couldn’t find her anywhere and panicked.  She involved the Purser’s Desk and they started looking as well.  Poor Vicki said she was really scared and couldn’t imagine what had happened to Vera.  Come to find out Vera arrived at the cocktail party early and they let her in early and closed the doors behind her since they weren’t ready to receive all the guests yet.  So there was Vera, in the front, at a table sipping Champagne and happy as a clam wondering what all the fuss was about!!  I’ve had a couple of conversations with Vera and she’s remarkably bright and feisty and on the ball!

We went to a thoroughly enjoyable show this evening by an amazing pianist named Linda Gentile.  What a talent!  I wish Sydney would have been here to see what kind of a pianist she could be!!  She’s got a different show tomorrow night and we will definitely be there again.  Amazing.

We lose an hour again tonight.  That’s the end of the “give back”!

XOXOXOXXO

  1. Oh wow, yes, it would be inspiring for Sydney to see such a pianist. Maybe you could video a little bit tonight with your phone and sent it to her.

100 years old and on a cruise ship. Hope we're all so lucky!
