We have completed the first of four sea days on our way back
to LA. The sun was out and we had temps
in the 70’s with some wind up on the deck..
Spent some time watching the “show” at the pool and even
stayed for the ice carving! Checked out
the new “Lawn Court” where you can putt, play bocce or croquet. It looks very nice but we laughed when we
heard the contractors got off the ship before they glued down the grasslike
carpet! When the wind blows it looks
like a green pond with waves!! Sure does
make it a challenge to putt! Guess
they’ll be hauling those guys back onboard!
Heard today that a couple that was on their first cruise
were so unhappy they packed up and left the ship in Honolulu to fly home! That was an expensive tantrum! I can’t remember the exact amount but there
is a fine involved if you disembark before reaching a foreign port (emergencies
excepted, I’m sure)! They were hugely
unprepared, in my opinion, and probably did quite a bit of barfing the first
few days!
Trivia wins eluded us today.
I would fire my team but at this point it doesn’t matter much. They are all nice folks and we are having a
good time. They did, however, vote
against THREE of my correct answers during the morning trivia and were
chastened by that!! The questions are so
obscure!
Sailor Ed had his second acupuncture treatment yesterday and
really feels a difference. He has one
more to go and it optimistic that it will work even better. Cross fingers!
It was formal night again this evening and we amuse
ourselves by watching the parade while having drinks in the bar. Believe me, it’s a riot to see some of the
get-ups!
Found out today that my cousin, Walter, had to have his
stomach removed because it was cancerous.
You might remember him as he was the Deacon at Gram’s funeral Mass. Please say and extra prayer for him and his
family. Thanks.
Casino boy just showed up!
He stayed after I left and said he took out $315.00 from the slot
machine!! Yay!
That’s all for now, folks!
XOXOXOXO

Actually, I'm surprised only one couple left the ship for home in Hawaii. After such a rough start, I thought there would be more.
ReplyDeleteWell, so much for my trivia theory I guess! And I didn't know acupuncture was happening. Glad it's helping. We'd just talked about that for Brian's back.
Will be praying for Walter. How horrible.
I too am surprised that someone would return home on their own. Did not know about the foreign port fine!
ReplyDeleteHope Ed gets some relief with the acupuncture, maybe that why he missed the belt loop.
