Feb 11th – Honolulu

It was a very nice day in Honolulu!  Not too hot and a slight breeze every once in a while that felt perfect!

We were off about 9:30 and headed to the Ala Moana area because I wanted to explore the big shopping area there.  Oh, my goodness!!  Who lives here that can afford those shops?  Every designer was represented from Ferragamo to Coach!  The whole center is huge in size and goes on for four or five levels.  Some of it is indoors and some outdoors.  When we first got there I decided that we really needed a map so we found an information booth in the center of the second level.  While I stepped up to get a map Sailor Ed disappeared!!  I looked around and was amazed at how fast I lost him!  There was a kiosk nearby so I walked over to look around it for a better view.  Just as I turned the first corner here he comes with his belt undone and fussing with his shirt!  My first thought was “Oh, My God”, he’s lost his mind!!!!!  In my gentle way I said ,“What the hell are you doing???”  Apparently, he missed a belt loop this morning and thought that the middle of the busiest mall we’ve ever seen, it was the perfect time to adjust his belt and pants!!!!!  Good grief.

So we did some mileage around the mall and shops and then we run into Doris and Ray!!  Perfect timing since they were ready to leave and we shared a cab back to the Aloha Tower and we had a nice lunch NEXT to the ship, instead of on it!!

We took a break and headed off again around 4:30 to meet our friend Dennis.  We sat in a restaurant nearby and had a great visit and dinner.  He’s doing well and still loves living in Honolulu.

Tomorrow is our last Hawaiian stop and it’s in Kauai.  We haven’t made any plans but are considering renting a car for a few hours.  There’s also a hotel near the pier with a great beach so we do have some options.

All for now from Honolulu!
XOXOXOXO
